Edit the file /etc/bashrc and add/modify the following:

export CLICOLOR=1
export LSCOLORS=ExFxCxDxBxegedabagacad
PS1='\[33[;32m\]\u@\h\[33[m\]:\[33[;34m\]\w\[33[m\]\$ '
