sudo apt-get install cups-pdf
sudo chmod +s /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf
sudo gedit /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf

and change Out ${HOME}/PDF to Out ${HOME}/Desktop

Then add a printer as generic, postscript color.

  1. OpenOffice.org includes the “export to .pdf” button, which works very well.

  3. i found out that the log is under/var/log/cups/cups-pdf_log, which gave me:
    [ERROR] failed to set file mode for PDF file (non fatal) (/home/___/___.pdf)
