adober reader speedup

unfortunately the best pdf viewer for ubuntu is the closed-source adobe reader, so that’s the one i’m using. it takes a long time to load all the useless plugins, so in order to speed up load time, you have to move the plugins from /opt/Adobe/Reader8/Reader/intellinux/plug_ins to a backup dir. Keep only searchfind.api

  1. To install adobe reader:
    echo "deb gutsy free non-free" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
    wget -q -O- | sudo apt-key add - && sudo apt-get update
    sudo aptitude install acroread acroread-plugins acroread-escript mozilla-acroread

  2. you might also want wwwlink.api, for urls inside pdf files…
