Localepurge

I found this on the Ubuntu Eee site: localepurge. It removes useless locale data from your system.

sudo aptitude install localepurge (it will ask you to choose the locales you want to keep during installation). Then sudo localepurge. For me the output was:

localepurge: Disk space freed in /usr/share/locale: 36644K
localepurge: Disk space freed in /usr/share/man: 2988K
Total disk space freed by localepurge: 39632K
