ff3 performance

leave a comment »

I was having some serious performance issues since upgrading to ff3. I would occasionally see my hd activity peak for periods of several seconds, and ff3 freeze. my cpu would be in iowait all this time.

after some googling around i saw someone hinting that it might be the “detect suspected attack site/forgery” security options… i disabled them and so far it seems to have resolved the problem.

now the thing is, if i’m not mistaken, these are the features that cause mozilla to ask ubuntu to display the eula the first time you run firefox…

UPDATE: And now it seems they’re taking it back.
