TV resolutions

  • Our good-old TV sets (PAL) have a 720×576 resolution (the American NTSC actually has slightly fewer vertical lines: 720×480)
  • Conventional HD TV sets have a 1366×768 resolution, which is 2.53 times more pixels than PAL
  • Full HD TV sets have a 1920×1080 resolution, which is 1.98 times more pixels than Conventional HD, or 5 times more pixels than PAL
