thunderbird date/time format

with one comment

This article is outdated: Thunderbird 3 doesn’t have the advanced configuration options “dateformat”.

printenv tells me my LC_TIME is set to en_UK. However, export LC_TIME=en_DK tells me

bash: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale (en_DK)

Besides, the configdate addon doesn’t work

  1. You have to make sure the en_DK locale is actually available.
Available locales can be displayed with locale -e
In my case only the UTF-8 variant was installed, so i had to export LC_TIME=en_DK.utf8
