Volume control applet

leave a comment »

After upgrading to Lucid (10.04), I lost my volume control applet. Searching the forums, it seems they moved it into the indicator applet, together with the nm-applet (Network Manager), which I could see. After a lot of searching around, I found the following solution: run gnome-volume-control-applet. This makes the (old) volume control applet appear both in the indicator applet and the notification area (the envelope for chat and broadcasting). Added it also to my startup applications.
