A nifty little utility to count lines of code in a project: cloc. You give it an archive or a directory and it prints the lines of code, like this:

     143 text files.
     143 unique files.
      11 files ignored.

http://cloc.sourceforge.net v 1.09  T=2.0 s (66.0 files/s, 67769.0 lines/s)
