Do I need a CPU with Virtualisation Technology to do this? I have a Core 2 Duo E4300 which doesn’t have VT, and although I know it can install XP, I have read it will not work with Mac OS?

I don’t know. My guess is it shouldn’t be required, but it will run much slower without it.
