Stop Drupal user registration spam with reCAPTCHA

To install the reCAPTCHA module in Drupal:

  1. cd into /etc/drupal/7/sites/default, mkdir modules and cd into it
  2. download the captcha and recaptcha modules, extract
  3. Log into Drupal as admin, go to Modules, then the bottom, click to configure Captcha
  4. Get a key pair from
  5. Go to reCaptcha tab, add the private and public keys from previous step
  6. Switch back to Captcha tab, select which forms to protect

  1. i get lots of registration even though I have reCaptcha on registration form.

    • In fact it does not completely eliminate spam. I think this is due to people in some sweatshop typing out the answers. I’m not sure what can be done about this…
