Title case in OpenOffice.org

leave a comment »

The only two options under Format -> Change case are “Uppercase” and “Lowercase”. You can get Titlecase as described here (too complicated): Format -> Character -> Font effects -> Effects = Title

They should add the Titlecase option to Format -> Change case

I’m looking for an ext4 driver for Windows. fs-driver.org does only ext2/3.

leave a comment »

I would like to be able to install Limewire or Frostwire with the (supported) openjdk rather than the deprecated sun-java6

Features wanted

  • Choose the start screen at Facebook’s iPhone app, because the default “news feed” sucks
  • Mobile carriers should offer smartphone clients roaming data packages like Vodafone Passport does for roaming voice
  • The WordPress iPhone app should allow inserting bullets, links, and photos from the camera roll

bootchart w/o initramfs

leave a comment »

/sbin/bootchartd is started by the initramfs (at /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-top/bootchart) and stopped at S99.

My question is, is it possible to run bootchart when booting without an initramfs? This is the current idea for the Jaunty kernel.

Also note that bootchart is at v0.9 since 2005-11-13

So far I manage to synchronize my Firefox bookmarks using Foxmarks (I used Google Browser Sync before, but a) it’s deprecated and b) it messed up the order of my bookmarks).

I would like to be able to synchronize a wider range of metadata, with the ultimate goal of having an identical browsing experience on any machine. This includes:

  1. bookmarks
  2. saved passwords
  3. search engines
  4. addons
  5. settings & layout

Mozilla Weave will include No1 and No2 (plus history, cookies, saved form data, open tabs), while Foxmarks beta will now includes No2 in addition to No1.

That’s still far from including all 5 of them. To tell you the truth, I have more hope of achieving this through a generic browser + a Web2.0 interface (see iGoogle)…
